Andy Wilson

I am a doctoral student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, working in the areas of twentieth-century international U.S. and Latin American history.  My academic background is in modern U.S. foreign policy but I consider myself a historian of the global twentieth-century.

    Greetings, Andrew.

My name is Julio, from Managua, Nicaragua. I’m 20 years old, and I’ve just discovered your blog. The information you post about Nicaraguan revolution (specially images like cartoons, or those from books) are, for me, pure gold, since it’s so hard to find them online, or at a nice quality.

I wonder if there’s any kind of e-mail from which I can contact you to share information, since I’m running a sort of a blog (http://cementeriodeplatosrotos.tumblr.com/) in which I’m documenting posters/pictures from the revoluotion.

Anyways, hoping for your answer and you continuing updating this blog, I salute you.

    Greetings,
    Julio.

    • Hey Julio, glad you like my blog. Most of what I have found comes from collections that’ve been able to access here in the U.S. I really like your poster collection. Did you find those in the United States or Nicaragua? I’m curious because I noticed many of them are for events in San Francisco.

You can email me at andywilson634@gmail.com to share information. I don’t have many posters, and the ones that I do have aren’t the greatest quality because they were copied onto microfilm. Most of what I have I obtained through university library system here in the U.S., and if you have access to that I can point you in the direction of some great sources.

  3. Sorry I didn’t get back to you right away. Feel free to share my blog posts on your tumblr. As far as other materials go I don’t really have any posters or cartoons, and I don’t have the rights to share some of my sources. I can’t even post them on my blog because they’re under copyright to the artists that created them.

I’m not sure how far back your interest in the revolution goes but this website might be interesting to you

There are a lot of great sources and some really great political cartoons that I’ve used before. If I come across any more digital collections I will post them to my blog.

These digital archives also have some stuff on Nicaragua that you might find interesting.

    • My eventual goal is to create a website similar to that about the Sandino Rebellion for the Nicaraguan Revolution, and that way all of the primary sources I have can be out there for others to investigate.
